When I have trouble with parents, school, or friends, I find it best to talk things out with my friends in Alateen. There have been several times when my Higher Power has helped me get through difficulties. I was having problems communicating with one of my closest friends. When I went to my meeting, Alateen members suggested that I give my problem to God. The next day my friend called and we worked things out. There have been times when I would fight with my mom and I would have so much pain and hurt that I would cry. After I gave my situation to my Higher Power and let go of things, I would feel all the hurt go away.

Alateen is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking. Alateens are young men and women who range from 9 to 19 years of age. However, more often the range is from 12 to 19 years of age.

Alateen is for Al-Anon's younger members to find the same hope, welcome and comfort that Al-Anon provides to adult friends and family members of alcoholics.

Is Alateen for You?

Is Al-Anon or Alateen for You? answers many commonly asked questions about the Al-Anon/Alateen fellowship and includes twenty questions designed to help you decide whether or not you need Alateen.

Locate an Alateen Meeting

There are six Alateen Meetings in the Central Ohio area. Visit Alateen Meetings for times and locations.

Alateen Sponsors

Alateen groups are sponsored by Al-Anon members. Sponsors are the first links to building strong recovery in our Alateens. Based on requests from professionals in the community, we could probably add five more meetings in Central Ohio if we had enough sponsors to go around. Please see Service Opportunities for information about being an Alateen sponsor.
