For More than 50 Years, Al-Anon Family Groups have been Helping the Families and Friends of Alcoholics.

Information for Professionals

Al-Anon Family Groups, which include Alateen for younger members, have been in existence for more than 50 years as a community resource providing support to those affected by someone else's drinking. Today, there are more than 24,000 Al-Anon and Alateen groups meeting in 131 countries. Our meetings are anonymous and confidential. There are no dues or fees for membership.

Thirty-six percent of Al-Anon members report that a professional influenced their decision to attend their first Al-Anon meeting. Al-Anon and Alateen meetings are compatible with all types of counseling and medical treatment. Doctors, nurses, counselors, therapists, social workers, attorneys, judicial, law enforcement, and employee assistance and human resources personnel are just a few of the professions that find their patients/clients can benefit from Al-Anon & Alateen.

• Meeting Info provides a schedule of meetings in Central Ohio. Professionals are invited and encouraged to attend any meeting with the Open* designation.
